Nation Ford Rolling to Men's Lax State Championship

By NAS Athletics, 04/26/17, 2:30PM EDT

The Nation Ford Men's Lacrosse team entered the SCHSL Tournament as the lowest seeded team, however have continued to shock the state as they play in the AAAAA State Championship game this Saturday.

The Falcons exploded into the tournament with an incredible upset over top seeded Dorman, beating them 5-9.

Nation Ford lead the Cavaliers 5-2 at halftime and came into the second half with the same fire and intensity shown in the first. Leading 8-2 going into the fourth quarter, the Falcons defended well and held onto their lead to earn their most impressive win of the season thus far.

But they weren't done after just one round. The Falcons visited Greenville to face ninth seeded JL Mann. By the end of the third quarter, Nation Ford lead 9-3 and continued to comfortably cruse towards a win.

Nation Ford continued their incredible playoff run with a trip to Blythewood on Tuesday, and took no time to impose their will on the game.

The Falcons led Blythewood 9-6 at halftime through four goals from Alex Ramadanovic. Blythewood would not go down easy however.

Blythewood's Matt Clary scored early in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 12 goals a piece, but Nation Ford provided almost an immediate response.

Zach Skidmore scored the go-ahead goal to put Nation Ford up 13-12 and Ramadanovic scored his eighth (8th) goal of the game to seal it for the Falcons.

Nation Ford advances to the SCHSL AAAAA Men's Lacrosse State Championship. The Falcons will face the winner of Wando on Saturday, April 29th at Chapin High School at 1:30 pm. Tickets are $8.00 at the gate and children under the age of 5 are admitted free. Follow this link for more information on the SCHSL Lacrosse State Championship.
